Oodnadatta, Australia - July 16, 2010: Famous Oodnadatta Track's Pink Roadhouse, South Australian Outback. Oodnadatta is an aboriginal word meaning "blossom of the mulga." It's about 1,000 kms north of Adelaide from the Stuart Highway and Coober Pedy via Maree on the Oodnadatta Track. There's 600 kms of dirt road. It is the right distance from everywhere. The population is about 150 people. You can see the museum tour in the railway station,the historic General store, the Aboriginal school, a hospital where you can find out about the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Afghan graves and the Transcontinental Hotel. Oodnadatta lives on tourist traffic heading for the Simpson Desert, Painted Desert, Dalhousie Springs, Alice Springs, The Oodnadatta track running south to Williams Creek and Lake Eyre.
