The Brooklyn Bridge under construction. The four main cables of the bridge were made up of 5000 strands of steel wire, held by steel-link eyebars foreground. A group of men stand on a cable, a sign says 'Safe for only 25 men at one time. Do not walk close together, nor run, jump or trot. Break step !' . The engineer John A.
