Artist's Description

1962 Jaguar E Type 3.8. The E Type became the status symbol of the sixties, a cult car with a performance usually found only on the racetrack. Stunning looks and a pleasure to drive, the E Type was considered the ultimate car. Acceleration was 0-60 in 6.9 seconds, and disc brakes were on four wheels. A later introduction of a 4.2 power unit proved disappointing, but in 1971 the 5.3-litre V12 version was introduced (Photo by National Motor Museum/Heritage Images/Getty Images)
