(Original Caption) 09/08/1957-Atlantic City, NJ- Miss Colorado waits as Miss America, Marian Ann Mcknight, places the crown on her head after she was named Miss America 1958 Saturday night. The new Queen, Marilyn Elaine Van Derbur, 20 year old University of Colorado student, won a five thousand dollar scholarship plus a chance to earn an additional fifty thousand dollars for other committments during her reign. She loves swimming, horseback riding, skiing and music.
