Artist's Description
Inventor Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) shows the incandescent lamps he created at his Menlo Park laboratory in New Jersey. While Edison did not invent the idea of the incandescent lamp, his invention, a one-piece carbon filament that glowed inside a vacuum, added hours of life to the lightbulb and made it practical for everyday use.
