3/11/1954-Pittsburgh, PA-ORIGINAL CAPTION READS: Dr. Jonas Salk, head of the University of Pittsburgh group that has developed a polio vaccine, was mentioned as a definite possibility for the Nobel Prize in Medicine, on the eve of the probable announcement from Stockholm. The prize, along with its honor, brings the winners $33,000 in cash. He is shown in a photo from 3/11/1954 in New Orleans. Filed 10/21/1954
