Description
Bronze knocker, circa 1560, (1881). Etching of a door knocker, made in Italy in the mid 16th century. The escutcheon is formed by a lion's head in high relief, and the ring is ornamented with the head of a satyr. From "The South Kensington Museum", a book of engraved illustrations, with descriptions, of the works of art in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (formerly known as the South Kensington Museum).
